Thoeba by Donna Milward

Review by Natalie
Thoeba is a pure bred angel created by god, the deity, whatever you want to call the energy that made us all. She was around for our beginning and came to our dimension to witness our worst using her telepathy and indivisibility to mask her and uncover our true natures.
Her world Eden that she shares with her soul mate Thani has been overrun by the darkness and in a battle to save it she lost both it and Thani.
The energy sent them both to Earth as a last ditch effort to save them all but there's more than one way there and not only she knows about it.
Peter is a simple man, ex army he likes to stay at his lake side cabin and fish after his divorce. With the pickings slim he certainly didn't expect to pluck a stunningly naked woman from the water. Where did she come from?
Theoba thinks she's lost all compassion for human's after seeing the horrors they've inflicted on each other but as you see more from her you realise she's closed herself off from being hurt by not caring at all. She's strong and resilient, a true warrior.
Peter is the honourable man that everyone wants. Brave and compassionate almost to a fault as he's too trusting, but perhaps that's his old soul peeking through.
Great tale with it being a different take from the many angel/demon combo's out there. The dialogue is natural with a good flow which is refreshing as I think a lot of stories could do with abbreviating.
Nice to have a good stand alone novel rather than a series as it was packed with details and suspense.
