The Spirit Box by J.H. Glaze
![]() Review by Anne
Walt inherits his mother’s apartment and antique shop below after his mother passes away. A co-worker deliberately betrays Walt’s confidence causing him to lose his job. The Spirit Box calls to him from the dark shadows of the shop below with a way to seek and get revenge against the co-worker. WOW!, I actually won “THE SPIRIT BOX” !!! and finally had the chance to read it, to “Take a look inside the Box” Yeah This is a short version of my original review that I had wrote, I tend to give to much so the other day I stepped away half way through typing it up to post and this is what I decide to post instead. The Spirit Box is so full of suspense, mystery, twists, turns and is a down right spooky read!! The description of the Spirit Box (the actual) was so full of detail that it had me literally turning my head sideways and upwards as the details were being told. Then leaning away from the eyes, not wanting them to follow me!! The box will promise you your dreams and or desires will be fulfilled, but only if you agree to do as the Spirit Box asks of you. Lured by the chance to have eternal life and ultimate power, Walt agrees to do just that! All the characters are so believably spun around a spiraling fast paced, spooky and funny dialogue throughout the book. I found myself liking one, then further down not to sure. LOL… I just normally find myself enjoying, disliking and yes loving a character! Never have I ever flipped flopped back and forth, as I found myself doing as I read The Spirit Box. But that’s a good thing right?... in this case yes it is, and it’s further proof to me of the genius mind inside the head of JH Glaze. Jeff has such a storytelling mind; I shake my head asking myself “How does he do it, to come up with all these ideas?” I for one will be looking forward to my next read of Jeff’s. (NorthWest) My recommendation for this book would have to be Adult due to the strong language and very detailed/graphic dialoque. |

NorthWest by J.H. Glaze
![]() Review by Anne
Families of Hikers Silent As Search Abandoned Umatilla National Forest Wednesday 6:30 PM PDT After a small chartered plane went missing several days ago over the Umatilla National Forest, a search was initiated for a group of students from a San Francisco Community College. Unnamed sources revealed that the group was allegedly destined for a two week field trip to complete their class. Local pilot groups and forestry officers launched A massive search covering 1200 square miles of rough terrain. With no sign of the students, the search has been abandoned. Names of the missing have been withheld pending notification of family members and forestry officials have been reluctant to discuss details of the incident. Family members who have already been notified have begun arriving at the Umatilla National Forest Supervisor’s Office in Pendleton, Oregon. So far the group has remained sequestered from all media outlets and have offered no comment on the missing students or the mysterious details surrounding the nature of their disappearance. College officials have declined all requests for comment or interviews. IT WAS A FIELD TRIP TO DIE FOR Have your running shoes on!!! And no caffeine needed… (to stay awake that is) John Hazard returns once again of course, as he embarks on his next adventure in NorthWest.. As John and 6 other students venture into the ragged forests known as “The NorthWest Triangle”, where multiple small planes and scores of people have gone missing without a trace. As their final grade for the Paranormal Investigation course they are enrolled in, they are to film a documentary on this mysterious phenomenon. Their professor feels the answers are to be found in an unsolved mystery from her past; she’s bound and determined to solve it!!! NO MATTER THE COST. The tension from all the events, and very nerve racking points throughout this segment kept me so engrossed, and riveted to every page. So very interesting, and yes I was doing the guessing game once again right along with the rest of you!!! (which I find myself doing a lot with this series) So much action piled, and crammed into the signature of craziness, that solely belongs to the talented JH Glaze’s NorthWest for us to devour and have the hibbie jibbies scared out of us once again.. :-s but that’s what a mystery/suspense is for right???? And OMGoodness when they encounter the aliens, and I’m just not talking about normal aliens, (if there’s such a thing) but heck NO!!!! They are man eating aliens… RUN for your lives. (hence the running shoes needed mentioned at the beginning) I absolutely loved NorhtWest; actually better then book 1 (The Spirit Box)… each installment of the adventures of John Hazard seem to be getting better in my point of view!! Although “The Spirit Box” was a unique, amazing novel on it’s own. So don’t take me wrong on that last statement please. The scary level of the paranormal continues, and has you sitting or laying which ever the case may be on the edge of this book. Such a scary, gripping story. Awesome book once again! I can’t wait for the next installment “Send No Angel” to come out soon. Well done JH Glaze!! You are truly a crazy, talented master of the paranormal mystery… You didn’t let us down with this quirky, creepy, suspenseful and yes witty too novel… My recommendation: 18 and up |
