The Black Witch by Micheal Rivers

Review by Tanya
I enjoyed this book, it took me on a journey following a few different characters - of course there were (& rightly so) characters that I wouldn't care to meet in my daily life and others, I would enjoy meeting.
The year was 1935, an unsuspecting couple fell in love with a schooner, after learning more about this ship, they ignored the stories and warnings, while aboard The Black Witch, we meet the crew and the owners, learning who we like and than those we are not quite so fond of and learning to despise others. we follow the crew & owners on their perilous journey aboard the schooner, hoping for their safety while testing the waters with a stop to a beautiful island.
This book was filled with chaos and upset, trials & tribulations and learning more about themselves than most people wish to learn in a lifetime. When I first started the book, I thought I knew who the main character would be, while on land I followed his story, but once aboard the schooner, that changed, the land main character was still a pivotal part of the journey, but the seaman becomes the main character, from there on out.
I am not used to having my characters changed on me in midstream, but it truly worked, I am glad I got to read this book and will be looking for Micheal Rivers other works.
