Stella lived a very unremarkable and lonely life in London and wanted more. Not to be burned alive by modern day witch hunters though but that was the introduction to her new world.
Stella is saved and thrust into a new life where her suspicions of being different are confirmed and she is sent to a safehouse/ school for witches.
She meets lifelong friends and a lover who all take her through her new life and help to teach her about her magic and the perils of their enemy "The Brotherhood".
Abit predictable in that she was "pure" even though past 21 which seems a common theme in alot of books these days but that was only a minor eye roll moment for me.
Left on a decent cliff hanger with questions left unanswered. Wished it had been longer because I wanted more.
