Blackmore's Treasure by Derek G Rogers

Review by Natalie
A dream or something more?
The tale starts with young Tobias unable to sleep due to the storm raging outside their family home. Whilst checking on the horses he is somehow propelled backwards through time into the body of his founding ancestor and lives his life throughout the English Civil War in the 17th century.
For a 218 page book it took me a while to get into the story and wasn't very captivating overall. The historical battle scenes weren't in depth enough to truly experience them and I found myself wanting more dialogue to bring the story to life. It was the final 50 pages that were enjoyable as you saw some of Tobias the man rather than the soldier whose story was dependent on others.
There were very few editing errors and it was well written.
