The Mad Ship (Book 2) The Liveship Traders by Robin Hobb

Review by Natalie
The book starts off from the climatic ending in The Ship of Magic with Captian Kennit seizing the Vivacia. Kyles tyranny and abuse has come to an end and Winthrow has finally got some control of his own future.
The Vestrit family is thrown further into financial despair as the Vivacia's maiden voyage as a slaver was due to return with the promised fruitfull spoils.
The willful Malta decides to take things into her own hands using her only available asset, her beauty but is the always the best course of action.
Althea is still on the pursuit of Vivacia unknowing what has become of her.
A great padding for a second book in a Trilogy. All the details are provided and characters progress with your opinion of them changing as it all unfolds.

Ship of Destiny (Book 3) The Liveship Traders by Robin Hobb

Review by Natalie
What a high i'm feeling after finishing this trilogy!
Such an epic journey that all have faced. Characters such as Malta who was initially very grating grew to be a favorite after enduring her own hardships away from the sheltered life of being a Bingtown Traders daughter.
The villains of the tale, subtle and obvious got their just desserts with good prevailing.
The scene of The Pirate Isles, Bingtown, Trehaug and Jamailia City were wonderfully detailed and captured your imagination with a by gone era of trading and sailing.
It's based on facts from history with galleys, trade routes and piracy with a brilliant edge of fantasy. Ancient dragons and sea serpents are re-awoke to reclaim what was lost and humans are in the front row of history witnessing these changing times.
Very easy which is a good job as there's so much of it.
Will soon be reading the follow on series The Rain Wild Chronicles!
