Scary Mary by S. A. Hunter

Review by Deb
I've got to be honest, the cover of this book didn't really appeal to me, but the topic seemed interesting so I thought I'd give it a go. I am so glad I did. This was an extremely well crafted story, which just flowed. It wasn't too short or too long, the characters seemed lively and interacted well with each other. I got emotional and angry where I think I was supposed to, I smiled and laughed at what I hope were appropriate moments. To be honest this book rang so many bells for me, took me back to my own schooldays. It even opened up a few wounds, reminding me how evil kids can be sometimes. It was brutal at times but dealt with truthfully and sensitively. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I feel really guilty because I have read so many books recently and given out top marks for most of them, but I would still have to give this one 5 out of 5 stars for the story. Definitely one to put on your wishlist. x
