A virtual world and the real world running alongside each other the real world is dwindling. Troy plays out his virtual world from his high school days and gets him wondering about is first love Michelle. The company SymGear has bought real lives in return for virtual lives as in reality there was an apocalyptic famine and food was very scarce forcing people to give up what they were to become part of the system. Troy fights against this until he finds out his sweetheart had to relinquish and become an avatar too. This makes him choose between what he has fought all his life for or become part of the virtual world to be with her. Not my usual read but I loved it! Very strange and modern storyline which had me gripped. With a grip of imagination it takes you to situations I would never have thought about till now, setting questions I wanted answers to within the story. Brilliantly written. |
