In The Bleak Midwinter by M R Sellars

Review by Tanya
I am a huge M.R. Sellars fan, so this review, might be a wee bit bias. In The Bleak Midwinter, was a very good read, now I am going to tell you that I really enjoyed his Merrie Axmas that was a novella about Special Agent Constance Mandalay, who is one of the characters from his Rowan Gant series, so as I was reading In The Bleak of Midwinter, I am recognizing bits and pieces of this from his novella, I in no way thought there needed to be more to Merrie Axmas, because, well let's get real, when you are dealing with the paranormal, you just kind of accept things as they come at you, but I will say that M.R. Sellars did justice to the storyline of Merrie.
you meet young Merrie in 1975, she is a sweet 10 year old girl with a loving Mother and an annoying little sister who is 5. Merrie is not feeling her usual self, but still tries to act as normal as she can, she answers her Mother's questions without lying to her, she takes her little sister to see Santa Claus to try to rush their trip into town, but this is all in vain.
We now are introduced to Special Agent Constance Mandalay as she is driving to her destination, of the quaint little town of Hulis. when she arrives and introduces herself to the Town Sheriff, she is a bit put off by him, but she continues on trying to do her job, even though she feels like she is being given road blocks along the way.
The way Mr.Sellars spins a yarn, certainly keeps me entertained and coming back for more and wishing that the story didn't end, to the point that I read all of his "excerpts and about the author" anything that may possibly send me on to another book, and saddened to realize that I have to wait for his next piece.
