Pulse of Heroes by A. Jacob Sweeny

Review by Claire
Where to begin?? It took me a little while to get into the plot of the story laid out by Jacob and his main characters - that could be as much to do with my attention span when I began as it could be the set-up.
Once I was involved with the characters and had learned enough about them to feel empathy I was well away. The novel was a little long and did seem to repeat itself at several points but not in such a way that I lost interest.
I loved the multi-dimensional aspects to Elliott and his friends living in the “special school”. Lot's of thought appeared to have been given to their history and their growth into the modern world.
I was a little disappointed to find so many wording and spelling mistakes in this version and they sometimes made me need to read over the same sentence more than once to understand what should have been there instead. I don't know if this is an oversight by the editor or a problem with the kindle version.
On the whole, once the story had taken hold, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and I hope there is a sequel. Only a super-strong imagination from the author could make this book the sensation that I hope it will become.
