Seven Point Eight by Marie Harbon

Review by Deb
I have just finished reading this, only to realise that I have gotten myself into a five-book chronicle and the second part isn't even going to be released until the Summer 2012 ?!?!?!? How will I ever manage to cope with the protracted wait, to see how it all ends?
I'll admit that this book was a little tricky to read to start with. There is a lot of science and theorising that is mentioned, and at quite an in-depth level. It might, at some stages, appear to be a little long winded. However, I found that this was vital, not only in order for the storyline to make sense, but for this to help build up the suspense to an amazing crescendo. It also lays the foundation for the future chronicles, tantalising the reader with expectations of what is to come.
This book has been crafted, so that it is like a virtual reality. The descriptions of surroundings, relationships and feelings are so graphic that the lines between reading and living felt, at times, quite blurred. I was so caught up in this book that part of me felt like I was actually experiencing this for myself.
I am so looking forward to reading more not only by this author but in this series. Come on Marie........write quickly........I'm waiting for the next installment with bated breath.
I would only recommend this book for adults, as there are some sexually explicit, although not gratuitous, scenes.
I forgot to mention that the main reason I picked this book to read next, is due to the cover alone. It lends itself very well to the book, although I don't think I quite realised until I finished reading it. It definitely shows that it deals with life, love, spirituality, sexuality and religion, but don't let that put you off!
