"This is not normally my choice of genre although I am pleased that I chose to continue reading it. Mystical/magical creatures are not my favourite things especially when they are elves and alike. However, my personal tastes aside, this was written very well and the author managed to keep the sense of time. place and language consistent throughout. I felt that I forgot much about the characters, their traits and backgrounds etc as it was utterly new to me. Despite my failure to absorb as much information as I would like, it was great to find a section at the end of the piece that the reader could refer to should they so wish.
I was able to keep track of the plot and understand what was going on. My only niggle/fault was that it ended rather abruptly which left many unanswered questions. I know that it was probably due to a sequel but it felt somewhat rushed compared to the body of the novel.
Three stars from me if I had three stars to give.
