Lou Lou by Safia Guerras

Review by Anne
Thank you Safia Guerras for the opportunity to read this delightful childrens book for review.
Lou Lou is a childrens book of a lost dream, a new dream and new hope.
Lou Lou, her family and all the people of the beautiful tropical island in Maldives located in the Indian Ocean, had to leave their island due to global warming effecting the ocean waters. The ocean waters were swallowing their island as the waters grew higher.
The beautiful tropical island was all that Lou Lou knew, the only place that she had ever lived. But she and her family had no choice but to leave, they were ordered to leave the island.... The transport boat came to collect all the island people, and take them somewhere else, to find a new place to live.
While on the transport boat Lou Lou stood on the deck looking saddly at her island as it disappered from her view. She went below deck to find her parents, only to find them crying. Lou lou had NEVER seen her parents cry, and this made her even more sadder. She waited until she found a place away from everyone else before she allowed her sel to cry.
As she was sat in th corner crying, the most wonderful thing happened to her. A mermaid named Oceana came to her and told her that because she and her family had taken care of the island that she was sent to her, to help her find a new place wherever that may be. Before she left she gave Lou Lou a beautiful magical necklace and told her it would bring her great things and new hope.
Excited to show her parents, she set off to show them the necklace and of what the mermaid had told her. Her parents themselves were very excited, they told Lou Lou that a person had told them that they were going to help them find their new home... Everyone was happy. The magical necklace was working just as the beautiful mermaid Oceana had told her.
This beautiful childrens book was a delight to read.. Such gorgeous illistrations throughout. A magical book indeed to read.
Recommend: highly to all children
